Icosahedron is a contemporary tabletop sculpture by Joel R Washing, representing one of his early forays into geometric form. Crafted in steel, the piece reflects a foundational study in mathematical structure and spatial harmony. Serving as both a technical exercise and a conceptual investigation, this work helped shape Washing’s ongoing exploration into the intersections of mathematics, geometry, science, and the cosmos. It also played a key role in developing practical fabrication techniques that informed later projects.
