Pointed Column with Sphere and Arc is a contemporary outdoor sculpture that explores the quiet drama of geometric relationships through scale, symmetry, and tension. Rising to ten feet, the sculpture is anchored by a tall, slender pentagonal column that tapers to fine points at both its base and its peak, giving the form a sense of lift and weightlessness despite its steel construction. Atop this vertical spine sits a six-inch steel sphere offering a visual pause before the final gesture: a rusted arc delicately balanced above, curving in quiet counterpoint to the column’s upward thrust.

Unified by a weathered rust patina, the sculpture emphasizes both permanence and impermanence; its solid form slowly altered by time and exposure. The composition draws attention to the interplay between line, curve, and mass, encouraging viewers to consider how simple forms can be arranged to express balance, elegance, and subtle tension. Pointed Column with Sphere and Arc stands as both a formal study and a contemplative object, inviting reflection on the relationships between groundedness and elevation, stability and delicacy, and the elemental shapes that structure our world.
